Strength changes quietly

The Science Behind Staying Strong

What does strength and mobility have to do with healthy aging?

More than you think! We’ll look at what the research tells us about muscle and aging, and how maintaining strength and mobility can support an active healthy lifestyle as we age.

Muscle plays an important role in far more than strength alone. We’ll explore how maintaining muscle supports balance, mobility, bone health, metabolism, recovery, and your ability to remain active and independent.
Strengthening can be practical, safe, and adapted to your current ability. We’ll discuss how the right level of challenge supports progress without making exercise feel out of reach.
Joint and muscle stiffness can limit mobility, alter movement patterns, and contribute to weakness and poor posture. We’ll explain why maintaining mobility is an important part of healthy movement and teach practical stretches you can easily incorporate into your daily routine.
Healthy aging requires more than exercise alone. We’ll explore how nutrition, sleep, hydration, and recovery work together to support muscle health, strength, and long-term physical function.
Can you safely get down to the floor and get back up again? We’ll practice this important skill and show you ways to make it easier, safer, and more confident.
